Guiding light
By james a. galgano

Though you find yourself without a star shining bright
To guide you to tomorrow’s shore
Time has a way to heal all wounds
To let you live in hopes and dreams once more
Never believe the worse is yet to come
For that too shall inevitably pass into tomorrow
Taking with it all hurt and sorrow
As well as the feeling of being betrayed
If you keep your hopes alive each day
You too will once be saved to enjoy heaven’s delight
Beneath your heart and soul your guiding light

Fool me twice
By james a. galgano

Distraught shame on such misdeeds thoughtlessly committed seemingly without a care
Though no fault was admitted it was apparent where the blame lies prone
While parties affected are both far away and alone unable to make sense
At whose expense such deeds go invariably without recrimination or penalty
For where love is concerned two parties share equally in the accountability
Within the unending register which opens and shuts for change never completed
Lovelorn emotions so often depleted by the hurt we cause without thought or avenue
There we see our love and life draped before us upon drawn canvas in view
Hoping beyond all shadow of ill defined doubt where nightmares often occur
There is where life and love blend in time yet by misconception too often blurred
Unfortunately incurred upon misbegotten lines extending often out into space
Where love is lorn and life disgraced upon unending dotted line into unending grace
How where were these lips and eyes so often quiver for one moment to savor your loving face that lies so easily out of lips never kissed to ears which only wish to hear truth
Upon endless limbs forever resigned where love holds desire elusive by design demure
What love is lost inscription of being fooled more than twice by those eyes once believed
On written page ill defined upon and within unforgettable mind or face deceived easily
Where fleeting hope lies to the edges of the shadow of our endless embrace now empty

SELF CRITICAL

Self critical

By james a. galgano

Idiot savant daily dressed in familiar tee shirt and near toothless smile

Not even the homeless person you may have thought him to obviously be

Just an ordinary asshole with aging sun bleached hair person know as me

Filled with subjunctive alacrity so easily criticized for past impropriety

Committed without a thought irreparable by one so dearly loved as you

For all past crimes permitted with a mere frown of your Calvinist damnation

Hurled too often in your invectives well deserved upon to often deaf ears defiled

While so often remained aloof teeth clenched like fists forever beguiled

By the thought of savior like qualities a curse provided by maternity bestowed

Like a crown upon awkward head twisting in exorcist emotion tilt and whirl

Round about midnight where my piety turned to pumpkin skin unfurled

Like an undiscovered country where my irredeemable soul was laid to waste

For all to see but me abandoning my soul to an unforgettable smell and putrid taste

Where cats urinate upon my keyboard and all memory of me is forever erased

As were the dreams I once held dear like some unreachable star well out view

But upon second glimpse was merely a meteor in sheep’s clothing bidding me adieu

Before disappearing out of sight without even a whimper nor definitive explanation

For this mere idiot minus the savant for what good would that apologetic combination

BOUQUET OF SUPPOSES

Bouquet of supposes

By james a. galgano

Captive forever to the loving warmth of your unforgettable smile

Your luscious lips linger like a delicious wine longing to savor

Your mesmerizing eyes sparkle like fireworks in my thunderous heart

Bewildered by the thought you have an interest in someone like me

The glow on your wondrous face draws me to you eternally yours

The thought of watching you move gracefully into my life captivates

My humble heart is yours for the asking all you need is to reply

My dreams now revolve around you like a planet to its star above

Soaking in your comforting warmth and my growing devotion

Since I have met you I feel like a ship with clear course upon your sea

I once was lost but now feel I am found in your heart if you give me a sign

I will patiently wait for your decision or a sign this dream may come true

That you will become my safe harbor my infinite delight each day and night

That we will meet one day soon to consummate our mutual consensual devotion

Here I await in the shadow of your hopeful reply to draw me to your flame

For around the thought of you I will forever linger and eternally remain

If by chance or circumstance our romance grows into what I long it will be

I suppose I may ask too much but here I await your reply your captive me

Lost yet found

Lost yet found

By james a. galgano

Your beauteous paradise so easily found

Within the embrace of your bewitching vision

Where your delicate blossom of opaque loveliness

Becomes every dreams guiding light

Fulfilling every wandering souls wayward desire

As if were a delightful wondrous dream

Which might possibly come true

And though glorious dreams such as these rarely do

It does not deny the obviously enchanting fact

That to be even lost with the angelic glow

Of your desirous blossom of delight

Will cause each heart to remain

Within your endearing infinite splendor

Without ever a hesitant thought of turning back

LOST UPON THE SEA OF NOTHINGNESS

LOST UPON THE SEA OF NOTHINGNESS

BY JAMES A. GALGANO

I WANDERLUST LOST WITHIN A BOX OF CUDDLY TOYS

NOW THREAD BARE FILLED WITH DUST MITES

AND DEVOID OF THE JOY THAT ONCE ERUPTED FROM MY CHILD’S EYES

I RAKE THROUGH THE PHOTOGRAPHS AND THEIR MEMORIES

WHICH LAUGH ALOUD IN MY NOW SOLEMN FACE

HEARING ONLY THE ECHOES OF SILENCE OR IS IT THE MACHINES

AND THERE NOTHINGNESS VIBRATING THROUGH CORRUGATED WALLS

I SHOULDN’T DWELL IN THIS NOW EMPTY ROOM

EACH MOMENT STAYED SENDS ANOTHER CRUCIFIX NAIL

INTO LEFT AND RIGHT AORTA BUT SOMETHING KEEPS ME HERE

AS TRAILS OF TEARS WANDER SLOWLY DOWN EACH WRINKLE OF MY FACE

THERE SHOULD BE NO PLACE IN LIFE FOR MOMENTS SUCH AS THESE

EVEN HER  ERASERHEAD MACHINE IS UNABLE TO ERADICATE

THE NIGHTMARE THAT HAS GROWN THROUGH THE CRACKS OF THIS DREAM

HAUNTING ME STILL AND UNTIL I REACH THAT NOTHINGNESS FOREVER WILL

SO HERE LOCKED IN A QUANDRY MY REFLECTION STARES A FROZEN GLARE

THAT STRADDLES THE ILLOGIC OF EACH DISSTENDING DESPAIR

AS I TOUCH A LOCK OF HIS FIRST LOCK OF HAIR

WHERE ARE THOSE ECHOES OF LAUGHTER THAT ONCE FILLED MY SOUL

SWALLOWED BY HER MACHINE OF NOTHINGNESS NOW IN CONTROL

THE VIBRATIONS OF PAIN INCREASE WITH INCLEMENT AGE

SORROW HAS NO EXPIRATION DATE NOR DOES THIS SILENT RAGE

IT TOO OFTEN LINGERS LIKE EACH PASSING DAY

OFFERING NOTHING MORE THAN WHAT LITTLE LIFE NOW SEEMS

AN OBSTRUCTION TO THE INEVITABLE IN MY WAY

LEADING DOWN THE SAME OLD DARK CORRIDORS

ONCE ENLIGHTENED WITH HIS FOOTSTEPS,LAUGHTER AND DREAMS

FOR ABSENCE DOESN’T REALLY MAKE THE HEART GROW FONDER

IT WANDERS AIMLESSLY THROUGH THE FOREST OF FALLEN TREES

A CLOSE COMPANION OF MY DISCONTENT BROUGHT HUMBLY TO EACH KNEE

BAPTIZED IN NOTHINGNESS’ MISTY MACHINE-MADE AFTERGLOW

WHERE FATE AWAITS WHAT I ALREADY KNOW WILL BE SO

SEEMINGLY ADRIFT  ALONE FOREVER ON LIFE’S LONELY SEA

UNTIL FINALLY SWALLOWED BY THE UNDERTOW OF WILL NEVER AGAIN BE

EXCEPT WITHIN EACH THOUSAND WORDS OF MY PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY

SILENT

Angel face
By james a. galgano

Swept through my heart leaving only memories and dust
Consorting with my soul surrendering my heart and my trust
Subjugated my desires one my age should only read about in books
Captivating each emotion until it became undying devotion
Lost upon some once undiscovered ocean of seemingly endless delight
Adrift within her warm embrace and each delicious taste
Savoring every moment together as if it would never end
Without laying my soul to waste as reality backhanded my delusion
Leaving me once upon a time to regret having ever kissed her angel face
Left alone to aimlessly wonder how one moment of indiscretion
Could be so cherished yet so disparate in by ill-prepared design
To reconnoiter in the aftermath how this could end this way
Left alone with all bridges burning preventing escape to a better day
Where fairy tales come true in endless rhyme and reason
While in reality the taste still lingers and her scent still confines
Dreams of what might have been had the die been cast another way
Yet here alone I am left to wander within each memory impossible to erase
Still longing for what was and will now never be beyond her angel face

ELUSIVE DREAM COME TRUE

Elusive dream come true

By james a. galgano

In the loving mist of your alluring humidity

Is where I endlessly searched to forever be

Once upon a time I thought would never come true

For such elusive angelic dreams such as you

So often appear beyond my longing reach

Where my distant embrace longs for eternally

Within your loving arms where poems you inspire

Filled with endless wishes upon rainbows end

Where all your loveliness aspires comes is imbued

If you accept my heart and soul I will be forever subdued

Prone to whatever you want me to be to you

All I hope and pray is that one day this elusive dream come true

BEGUILED

Beguiled

By james a. galgano

Easy on the eyes strolling past my face

Each flowing motion of curvaceous beauty

Captivates completely every focused gaze

Arousing every inhibition and percolating desire

Like a natural blaze of lovely she has set this soul on fire

every breeze of her passing gait bewilders unfazed

causing these flames of desire within to lose control

bewitching and bedeviling this once complacent soul

A thought for you
James a. galgano

Upon a distant horizon where tomorrow longs to be
In the celestial garden of your heavenly delight
Where hope shines eternally from the window of your soul
There is where, your true beauty is discovered waking into light
Of the paradise, which surrounds you in loving embrace
For a moment’s glance into your angelic face
Filled with mesmeric allure, which like a beacon draws
Wanderers such as I to a peaceful shoreline filled with joy
Longing to be within the comforting grasp of your enchantment
No matter how briefly it would certainly suffice
To have a cherished memory no matter how brief
to be a small part of your paradise and eternal peace
