Beguiling beauty

The world is a lilting lullaby upon which

Her blossoming hopes precariously cling

Searching for the morrow where utopia still confidently sings

Its joyful harmony, there you will find her thoughtfulness

And where my own contemplation transports me

Floating upon each outstretched wave of calm serenity

Where we once met within a blindfold of circumstantial eternity

Her inquisitive youth becomes her like a wardrobe of surety

Draped comfortably each alluring shoulder’s heartbeat springs

Inclement Storm clouds away from the innocence and purity

As Her still childlike eyes resolutely search for unflinching truth

Within which memory reminds in familiar lyrics to forever cling

With each day will come new trials and tribulations indeed

But within her hopeful heart and inquiring eyes will remain

The desire to uncover the answers they say may never be

But which surely must to explain and perchance remedy

The ills and imperfections plaguing uncertain humanity

Though my knowledge of her has the curse of brevity on its lips

And as time passes the momentum of memory will fade misspent

Transporting knowledge of her potential and accomplishments far from me, I will find comfort in each moment shared within this thoughtful void from which we once gazed across life’s endless sea, upon each wave my thoughts will be outstretched

to where we once met in a moment of circumspect eternity
