Love lost more than twice
By james a. galgano
Like Romeo and Juliet drinking unenviable laughter
Perchance to dream in each others thereafter
Warm moist embrace pass the poison so one can save face
That never looked in a broken mirror for more than a moment
Before each eye could see where this love was heading upon the rocks
Of someone else’s verse can you hear the curse of eternity
Upon that shoreline of forever more where kisses cling upon lips divine
Praying forever in rhyme in hopes such fleeting dreams came true
Though most never do like the raven scared away forever more
From each clinging memory left to remind us what we too often leave behind us
Upon the oil soaked shoreline of ever after where nothing is ever heard
But the echoes of innocent loving laughter upon each lip divine
Sipping the nectar of poison as if there was some fleeting hope in time
Where our eyes once met and love was so easily swept beneath the carpet of hope
For a dream that come true within our clinging arms and lips renewed
Upon light what lingers gait as we walked away forever alone never to wait
For the promise of forever after Romeo oh Romeo where art thou
But locked upon the frozen lips of never will be
Where love is forever lost but never forgotten upon some fore lorn symmetry
